



Amazon announced Thursday that it will obtain Goodreads, the well-liked social network for books, for an undisclosed sum
Goodreads launched in 2007 and currently has a lot more than 16 million members. The services lets end users share and evaluation books they’ve study or want to read, as properly as to hold track of what their close friends are studying.
In a statement, Amazon’s VP of Kindle Articles, Russ Grandinetti, mentioned the two firms will perform collectively “to build a lot of new techniques to delight readers and authors alike.” The acquisition must provide some beneficial studying data to Amazon and help the ecommerce giant produce far more of a social reading experience all around its Kindle offerings, probably providing it a leg up on competition from Apple and Google.
